ECG has taken their power off the national Electricity Power grid on Wednesday, 27th July 2022 at about 10:00 PM.

It’s sad and pathetic on the part of the Krobos to be in darkness for the past five days at time of publishing this story on Funwebgh.

The news has speculated on the internet especially Facebook with many reasons but today Adolf stood to write on his Facebook page. He pointed out some of the reasons with you should.

They do not care/respect Krobo people and our leaders/paramount chiefs allowed this to happen to us. After unnecessarily & illegally using soldiers with guns to intimidate/forcefully install prepaid meters in many homes, ECG/Energy Min. decided to cut electricity supply to Homes and businesses on Kroboland for many days now. Including the many homes/businesses with prepaid meters.

Students are learning/preparing for their WASSCE/BECE exams without Electricity because ECG/Energy Min. felt they have the power to do this.

This is why:

ECG wrongly/fraudulently overbiilled most households on Kroboland deliberately years back. ECG admitted this but still wanted us to pay this wrong bills.

We decided not to pay those Wrong bills since ECG admitted they were wrong. Now ECG want to install prepaid meters in every house on Kroboland.

We told ECG to sort out the old wrong and fraudulent bills first before they start installing the prepaid meters.

This is because Krobo people are worried ECG will turn around later and use the prepaid meters to try and blackmail/collect the old wrong/fraudulent bills using the newly installed prepaid meters. That’s why we said ECG should wait until we sort out the way forward on the old fraudulent bills.

Most People on Kroboland actually want prepaid meters but ECG/Energy Min. ingnored the genuine complaints/grievances of Krobo people about fraudulent/wrong bills. ECG/Energy Min. brought soldiers to intimidate and force Krobo people to get Prepaid meters with guns even though they begged ECG to sort out the problems with the old bills first.

Now most people have been forced to get the prepared meters but ECG turned around and disconnected their transformers making the whole of Kroboland stay in Darkness for many days now.

I think this is happening because it’s Kroboland.

I believe this can never happen anywhere. We are being disrespected & intimidated for asking for the right thing to be done.
