The district office of the Electoral Commission in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal says that despite receiving the interlocutory injunction motion over the District Level Elections, the commission will conduct the election exercise.
The election was set for Tuesday, 17 January 2023 for Electoral Area representatives at the District Assembly and unit committee levels.
However, two teenagers, Michael Tetteh and Angel Agyemang from Agormanya and Asitey respectively have run to the Koforidua High Court, seeking an interlocutory injunction restraining the Electoral Commission from holding the election.
The applicants say the Commission is violating their constitutional right to vote in article 33 of the 1992 constitution of Ghana.
