And it goes like this,
I found this out there and it reminded me of when some of us were like some of you today. Enjoy it too. ”To the Ghanaian Youth who want
Our Elders to be silent,
My Friend Ankredu says:
GHANAIAN YOUTH, WE KNOW YOU
On December 31st 1981 the youth of Ghana staged a successful coup d’etat. The youthful ruling PNDC had the following members.
Flt. Lt. J J Rawlings (Chairman)
35 years
Brigadier Joseph Nunoo-Mensah Rtd. (CDS)
43 years
Rev. Dr. Vincent Kwabena Damuah (Member)
52 years
Warrant Officer I Joseph Adjei Buadi (Member)
37 years
Sgt Daniel Alolga Akata Pore (Member)
Age ?
Joachim Amartey Quaye (Member)
38 years
Chris Bukari Atim (Member)
29 years
AVERAGE AGE = 39
That was 40 years ago.
PNDC wanted a new governance system to give “a chance for the people, farmers, workers, soldiers, the rich and the poor, to be part of the decision making process.”
Rawlings who joined the ancestors not too long ago, described the immediate past PNP administration with President Hilla Limman, a young man – 47 year old, at the helm, as ………. “the most disgraceful government in the history of this country….. It is only in recent times that criminals and the likes have become respectable in our society…… They have turned our hospitals into graveyards and our clinics into death transit camps where men, women, and children die daily because of lack of drugs and basic equipment.”
Let history be our guide. Ghana Youth we know you. Look upon our past and let the past guide you.
How did the Youth in the immediiate past NDC administration behave and perform whilst in government?
How are the youthful ones in the NPP government now behaving and performing?
How are the youthful ones in Parliament now behaving and performing??
How are the youthful ones now heading state owned enterprises behaving and performing? Are those enterprises making profits?
How are the youthful Ghanaians now heading Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies as MMDCEs behaving and performing? What is the state of affairs of almost all the Assemblies in Ghana?
Ghana Youth!
We know you and your so-called capabilities. Remember, it is the youthful one who grow to become old men and women.
Ghana Youth!
Remember that Ghana has been led largely by the Youth since 1951 when Dr. Kwame Nkrumah became the Leader of Government Business (i.e. Premier) with a majority of his ‘Ghanaian’ compatriots constituting the cabinet. Nkrumah was a mere 42 year old in 1951.
General A A. Afrifa was in his thirties like many of you, when he became Head of State in 1967/1968 thereabout.
So Ghana Youth we know you so well. Do well to visit the history books to appreciate the role the Ghanaian Youth has played in leading our country to our past and present national dilemmas
Let #Fix the Country put forth clear proposals to the government of the day, and be open to dialogue. No one holds all the answers, neither the youth; history our witness.
Let’s all first fix ourselves individually and Ghana, our beloved country shall be fixed automatically.
