NDC to Hold Both Presidential and Parliamentary Primaries in May

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced 13th May, 2023, for both Presidential and Parliamentary primaries.

This announcement was made at the party headquarters in Accra on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 by Fifi Fiavi Kwetey the party’s General Secretary in a press conference.

NDC Nomination Timetable

According to the party’s timetable outlined, interested parliamentary candidates are expected to pick up nomination forms from the party’s website and presidential candidates are expected to pick the forms from the party’s General Secretary at the national headquarters.

Filing of nominations will take place between Wednesday, February 22 to Friday, February 24.

The submission of forms would also take place from Monday, March 20, 2023, to Wednesday, March 22, 2023.

Vetting of aspirants has been schedule to take place from Monday, March 27 to Wednesday, 29 March 2023.

Meanwhile, appeals are scheduled for 30th March to 6th April, 2023.

Cost of Parliamentary Forms

According to the party, parliamentary candidates will pick a form at a cost of GH¢5,000.00, which is non-refundable and afiling fee of GH¢40,000.00 which is also non-refundable.

Cost of Presidential Forms

The cost of forms for the presidential candidates is a non-refundable fee of GH¢30,000.00 and file at a non-refundable filing fee of GH¢500,000.00.

However the party has stated that women and persons living with disabilities will pay 50% of all charges should they decide to pick up forms to contest. At both the Parliamentary and Presidential Level.

General Secretary of the NDC, Fifi Kwetey mentioned that the elections for both the presidential and parliamentary will be held in all constituencies.
